Happy Freakin' Holidays, Goddammit!

And so this is Christmas...

Hope all of you are looking forward to a better New Year

(Insert additional platitudes here)

Hey, if we satanic demonic hateful fuckwad liberals are at war with it, we're not very good at war. It's eating the calendar alive.

Another year of Fox News Libel against us, another year of right-wing Christians convinced that we're the evil ones, all while they're doing all the hating.

Another year of Obamaphobia on the right.

HE'S STILL BLACK!!!

Yes, the gift of Christianity is self-righteousness and Pride. How nice.

Hey, whatever... we will all go back to our lives, secure in the knowledge that a sub-culture of shallow idiots will still hate us with all their hearts and souls for the crime of not wanting the whole world to stay the same forever.

On the right the leaders will continue to fill the minds of the shallow with hatred and fear, because without that it all would crumble and they might realize that we're just fucking human beings, too.

Can't have that, now can we?

Oh well... have a happy!

To my Christian brethren out there, be careful what you wish for. After all, without us to hate you might realize that you've been played for fools by desperate, evil men who only seek power over you to get your vote and your money.

I'd love to see you realize that. That would be so sweet. The expression on your faces would be priceless.

Ahh, I can dream, can't I?

Of course you don't believe in evolution. Not a problem, it doesn't depend on your belief to be true.

  5. Interestingly enough, Mike, all mammals have tails at some point in their development.

Humans have a vestigial tail (which means, it has lost its "traditional" uses. Human embryos have a tail that consists of about 15% of their overall size. As the embryo developers into a fetus, the tail is absorbed into the body.

No, I've gotten fat and lazy, no TKD for me ;-) Congratulations on your black belt and good luck on that second dan!

  8. Satan didn't need to deceive the world, Val. Believers are gullible and generally fairly unsophisticated people by choice, practically asking to be deceived. Unsavory con artist types dressed as pastors and politicians and "news" anchors use them to gain power. It's what they were designed for. Religion makes fools of men. Emperor Constantine was a politician, and the founder of Christianity as we know it. He didn't even convert to it himself until his death bed. His biographer Eusebius even is *on record* saying that it's okay to lie as long as it benefits the faith.

Add it all up, and you get "no devil required." We are the devil. Humans are, at any rate.

Hey, if you gather together ten million suckers it's a lot to expect that nobody will fleece them or use them.

  18. Mike, you said, "Ian asks, what am I looking for? I'm looking to rightly divide the word of truth. To understand Gods reasoning towards mankind.... I want to understand why God made man and then allowed the devil to tempt knowing man would sucomb to the temptation. I realize atheist do not believe in Gods of any nature but the fact that they try to disprove the Bible is what challenges me to debate the scriptures. For example the prophesy concerning Jesus being called a Nazarene, just because its not found in the Old Testament does not mean it was never prophesied. There is no doubt of the possibility many writings have been undiscovered. But, that which has been found is substantial enough for one to be persuaded the God is and a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. You say I'm a fool? Not hardly I'm anything but a FOOL. And not as dumb as you think lol."
Now, Mike, you don't study the Bible to figure out what to say to people who ask you why you study the Bible.
The bit about 'rightly dividing' is Second Timothy 2:15
Are you actually saying that you study the Bible in order to throw Bible quotes out when you feel like it?
There's no 'why'd God do that', not one that makes any sense.
It doesn't matter that there isn't a Nazarene prophecy then, since there might have been at one time?
So, none of the so-called prophecies of the Jewish Scripture have to be there at all then, only that the Gospel writers are trying to back up there story that their story is prophesied, is all, right?
Of course you can talk your way around anything like this, google-search another Christian's post/sermon, no big thing.
But, "You can't prove there didn't used to be a prophecy!", is caviling.
While one may prove the existence of something, it's impossible to prove that something like a specific prophecy never existed.
Sloppy work by that Gospel writer for sure, very sloppy, and a lot hinges on this (supposedly) lost prophecy.

  19. Now, some might think it rude of me to knock your intelligence, Mike. You know, point out when you mis-spell things, that sort of thing. Some would say that is petty of me.

But they'd be wrong. Because you claim to be a very, very intelligent man, Mike. You claim to be smarter than science is. You dismiss hundreds of years of scientific inquiry and experiment with a knowing smile. You seem to have come to believe that you simply just know better. Evolution? Dismissed! Climate change? Ridiculous!
Yet, you know nothing of science but what you've heard from other science-illiterates!
You are a christian and it has made you into a buffoon, at least that is how you sound to anybody that knows anything REAL about this world. So don't blame me. Blame yourself. You're the one that seems to feel that you already have all the answers, that you know more than even a preponderance of scientists, even though you cannot even spell basic words and phrases. So when I make fun of you for that, it's not my Pride, it's me making fun of YOURS.

  20. The Holy Triangle or the Father, Son, and Mother Mary, are important because they symbolize adulthood, birth, and nourishment/breast feeding. This is according to the Doctrine of Dingleberry, as we all know, which also clearly states that Jesus wept tears of Coca-Cola and made that commercial in the seventies with everybody telling the world to sing. At the Last Dinner, Jesus gave of his own flesh for his apostles to eat by actually cutting off his fingers and making finger sandwiches for them.

Does this sound silly to you, Mike?

This is how you sound to us when you claim to know anything about science. I was just trying to make a point.

  21. Many years ago, I was talking to my grand-mother and she got serious for a moment and said to me. "One day you will be discussing prophecies with someone who believes in prophecy and he will tell you of an explained/fulfilled prophecy but cannot show the original. Not the original writings I mean, just, here, look, this guy said this would happen just so."
Me saying to you, "It was said that there'd be 'The Internet' and here it is according to ancient prophecy!"
Can you see how anyone could write anything into a story, something about a grandma having foreseen something or just claiming that some part of another story was true since it had been prophesied, lending that part, a ring of truth that it otherwise wouldn't have.
How much more gravitas has, "Jesus lived in Nazareth because it was prophesied that he'd be a Nazarene!", than, say, "Turned out that Jesus grew up in Nazareth."
In fact if I were telling the story to an audience of children as simply Jesus grew up in Nazareth, I think that'd raise a question or two. "Why?"
"Well, it had been prophesied! That's why, now shut up and let's move on with the story!"
You, Mike carry this simple, powerful question in your heart, like we all do.
Why is it that there is sometimes a rainbow after it rains, Mike?
Is it because of the properties of droplets of water and the light reflecting and refracting at different angles depending on their wave-length?
Or is it that God prophesied that he would occasionally send us a sign to remind us that HE would never flood the World again?
What of other rainbows we see if we have a hose spraying a mist or set a CD at a particular angle?
Is the one explanation science and the other explanation some other 'kind of truth'?
But imagine if the story is true? Was God just joking with unscientific people? Is God STILL, to this day fooling with you guys, just having a laugh?

Or is it possible that rainbows are awesome, just the ticket when we're talking GODLY things and it was just some guy's interpretation of what a rainbow must be then he wrote his story and included that part where God claims HE has a purpose in 'creating' rainbows every now and then?

So you think it's possible that God created rainbows for Godly reasons and us scientific party-poopers are ruining it for God and Godly people then?
Or, is it more like, scientists explained rainbows in a non-Godly manner?

    ReplyDelete

  25. I am empty of silly false beliefs in your particular obsession, I mean religion. Also of all religious beliefs. I strive to be barren of all false beliefs. In fact, I strive to have no beliefs whatsoever, as in, zero. A belief is thinking that you know something to be true with no evidence for it. You are full of such things. You have almost no true thoughts at all. Just things you think are true that aren't. So I'm not insulted by being called barren by you, because coming from you it is high praise indeed.

  26. Every single thought that I have is updateable. As in, if I find new information that contradicts or supplants it, I remove it and replace it with the new thought.

  27. The square on the hypotenuse of a right angled triangle is equal to the sum of the squares of the two other sides.
Not only that, but In calculus, the differential represents the principal part of the change in a function y = f(x) with respect to changes in the independent variable x (of course), and x-d (where d tends to zero) whether GOD exists or no.(look it up Mike, it's true.)
Now you could claim that 'it's true' because GOD, but it is my contention that it must be true regardless(or in 'dipshit', irregardless) of GOD's existence or no and that fact alone sweeps any notion of gods off the table since order must 'exist' regardless of gods or no.
Case in point, is it possible for a god to make one plus one anything else but two?
    No?
Then there are rules by which gods, even gods must follow, right? If gods themselves must comply with reality, then reality rules, no?

God dwells in what is known as an eternal spiritual reality... We humans are in a temporal reality, the wages of sin is death... So death is the reaction to sins action! Christ purpose is the remedy for sins reason. Lets face the facts, No God No morals... Their would be no reason or purpose for morals because morals are a standard of right and immoral is a standard of unrighteousness. Only a Righteous law giver would care about right/ wrong.

You are confusing the Old Testament definition of "Righteous" with your more recent Christian definition. Moreover, your contention that without God there is no reason for people to behave "morally" belies the fact that all "moral/ethical" behavior is simply mankind's discovery that if you want to be allowed into or to remain in any social grouping (i.e. family, tribe, nation), you have to subjugate your personal desires to what the rest of the group finds acceptable. If you live alone on a desert island, any behavior is acceptable, since only you are involved in the outcomes. As soon as our behavior may have an effect upon another person, you must take his/her reactions to said behavior into account (Do unto others.....) None of this requires a Deity to tell us how to behave; we only need to understand and/or anticipate how any group we want to be allowed to associate with will react. Whereas the first four Commandments deal with Man's relationship to God, the remaining six are all about our relationships with each other.

He makes us what we are and then judges some of us unworthy. Where he could heal, he punishes. He is a god of punishment, and I for one know what the real name of such a god is. Devil. Demon. Demiurge even. Not any kind of a moral god at all, a god of the opposite of morality that has people like you so much in thrall that you're willing to believe evil is good because he tells you to.
Question: Could God heal the souls of sinners after they die instead of condemning them to eternal punishment?
Of course he could. According to YOU he could.
So then, he chooses not to.
      Why? To teach us what?

He who creates beings that can feel terror and pain, from nothing, and designs them to be fallible and weak, and then doesn't leave any FUCKING EVIDENCE around for his own existence anywhere to be found, just tells us to believe him with no hard evidence at all, and then judges them unworthy...
then punishes them for it, eternally...

He even provided a way for you and the rest of the world to escape an eternity in hell and all He ask is for you yo repent and believe..... Love God with all ones mind body soul, love neighbor as thyself, clothe ones self with humility, the distinction between right and wrong such as adultrey for instance. If adultrey is a fabricated law to please a fabricated God then what would be the point seeing most people disregard it anyway . It would only matter to a God a real God piny.

    2. Mike:
We have repeatedly pointed out that Mankind seems to "need" a Deity (which being we have created/fabricated in every culture we know of) to provide us with some sense of control over this harsh and often cruel existence in which we find ourselves. Even if there is no such being, psychologically we find some comfort in the belief that if we pray/sacrifice/otherwise modify our behavior, we will somehow be able to get a reward or relief of suffering, if not in this life, then perhaps in our imagined afterlife. "The fabricators" are simply those who over millennia have created documents that try to codify or explain this need for a Deity in some organized fashion. These observations do not apply only to Christian Scripture, but to every other of the myriad "scriptures" that exist and have existed.

Mike, you're not 'getting it'. For God to do anything at all, supposing there was one for a moment, these rules have to exist beforehand.
It's the chicken and the egg thing really.
There absolutely have to be eggs before there can be chickens, the eggs, in this case being the rules and the chicken being God.
There were egg-laying animals long before chickens existed and some of them were actually the ancestors of chickens.
I know, you don't get it.

    1. DUDE, can I tell you a funny story? You too Mike.

Okay, when I was about ten years old, my father's brother, Uncle Jerry, came over the house with his wife.

My parents liked to show me off because I could put two words together, so Uncle Jerry asked me a question. Kind of a pop quiz. (Of course, this was his way of "bursting my balloon" or whatever.)

"What came first, the chicken or the egg?

I answered without a second's pause "Neither one. Chickens evolved from a long line of egg-laying animals."

Not bad for a kid, huh?

I mean, if you ask, 'when's the first egg?' then one can hypothecate a time long, long ago where some single-celled organism first produced something that resembled a viable spore, but that's it. You have to go that far back, hundreds of millions of years, perhaps billions, to find the very first ancestor of a chicken that produced something like an egg, and it would be a one-celled organism.

  53. No doubt Harvey most men do recognize there need for God, but to insinuate man fabricated a God to somehow ease his conscience is absurd. Not only would it be a waste of time and effort it would be cruel and inhumane.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Mike:
Actually, your last reply makes no sense. I never implied that we actually "need" any Deity; rather, I am pointing out that we seem to need the IDEA of a God, whose help and intervention we can beg/pray/sacrifice/etc. for in the face of the often cruel realities of our lives. Therefore, every culture we know of has "fabricated (your choice of words, not mine)" one or several. This is the response of human intellect to the realization that we have little or no real control over the dangers and pitfalls of live in the real world, so we "create" an invisible friend to help us as we go whistling past the graveyards of life. The only cruelty that I can see resulting from this is the eventual realization that our prayers or personal behavior modifications are actually to no avail, since our constructed "friend" isn't actually there, after all.

    ReplyDelete
  55. BTW, Mike, I never mentioned "conscience". We modify our naturally selfish behaviors in order to be allowed into or to be retained as members of various social groups, which self denial has real survival value. "Conscience" is our realization that a particular contemplated or actual selfish behavior may produce negative social results.

  63. Mike, there are things and processes as we normally understand it, right?
    In fact everything is processes.
Take yourself, for example, no doubt you're a living being(thing), but you have to eat, you have to drink and you must breathe, or that illusion of continuance is going to disappear fairly quickly.
Now you breathe in order to oxygenate your flowing blood, which then delivers it to the cells in your body, another process.
It's very simple and straightforward, without the continuous replacement of oxygen, your cells will stop being cells and turn to mush, even your brain cells, which allow you to have a streaming consciousness, another process, which you call your MIND.
It's not a 'thing' it's a process at the end of a long chain of processes, you can see that, right?
Lol Christians may FEEL that they score 2 to 0, but you've made a mistake thinking your 'mind' is a thing and that love is a thing.
Your streaming consciousness is a multiplicity of processes making up your personality according to, and exactly according to all the stuff that happened to you since you were born.
Another giant set of processes, growing up, learning language and social skills and whatnot.
Example:- Hypothetically, you and I are devoted Christians and great pals since forever, you feel you love me(in a manly, manly way, a Christian way perhaps), and then you find out that I've done terrible things to your children, your grandma, in fact I've done horrible things to everyone else you love, in different ways(love of grandma being not quite the same as love of your son or daughter or wife).
Suddenly, you'd stop 'loving' me and you'd want to exact a terrible revenge on me, you'd want me put in prison, given a fair trial then killed, isn't that right?
So where'd that love for me go, if it was a 'thing' which you just 'expressed' with your mind?
It wasn't a 'thing' to begin with, it was a process of your streaming consciousness, isn't that right?
So, lol Christian that you are, you're zero for two, atheists or no atheists, y'see?

  64. What I'm saying here is that it's not Christians versus atheists or Christians versus non-Christians in general, it's Christians versus reality. There is only one reality, it's not a matter of opinion, ever.
I doubt any of us are living without any misunderstandings about reality, I'm not sure we even CAN understand reality completely, but I do know that if you imagine your mind and love and such are 'things' controlled by some supernatural intelligence, you're just as mistaken as some tribesman who imagines that the weather is a thing which can be pleaded with since it is controlled by supernatural agency.
